Gulbanu Kader

Director of Education, The Mead Educational Trust
Gulbanu (Gee) Kader is the Director of Education (secondary) at The Mead Educational Trust with over 25 years of experience. She currently oversees the delivery of the Trust's strategic vision to achieve excellent outcomes in the secondary academies but also supports school improvement in primary schools.
As an experienced professional within the Ofsted workforce with over 15 years’ experience, Gee uses the knowledge and skills gained to forensically evaluate and improve practice across the Trust and beyond thereby ensuring she has a positive impact on standards and outcomes. This has been demonstrated by three of the five secondary schools achieving an Ofsted grade of ‘Outstanding’ and the other two successfully coming out of the inadequate category to be judged ‘Good’.
Gee currently serves on the Headteacher Reference Group which advises the Ministers at the DfE on the potential impact of policies on education.
In addition to the extensive experience of driving school improvement in the secondary phase, Gee is actively involved in working in partnership with primary colleagues both within TMET and beyond as a Trustee and as Chair of the Education Committee of Learning in Harmony Trust.
Gee believes that a successful school is underpinned by the creation of a dynamic and enjoyable learning environment, driven by high aspirations where children are inspired to embrace challenges, not to give up, make failure the beginning of success and aim for the very top, but at the same time, become responsible, caring and kind citizens. She is an energetic and committed individual, passionate about supporting students to fulfil their potential, regardless of their starting points.
