It's been wonderful to see so many individuals from the schools community being recognised in the New Year Honours list 2022, for the incredible work they've done. We extend our hearty congratulations to all of the 55 who received awards, but special mention goes to the friends and partners:
Jayne Jardine MBE
CEO and executive headteacher at The Rise Partnership Trust, formerly Brent Specialist Academy Trust, Jayne Jardine was awarded the honour for services to education and SEND. Jayne has spent her career in education working in primary, secondary and all age schools within the maintained and independent sectors. She is currently growing a multi academy trust working across two outstanding Brent schools which include Manor School and The Avenue in Brondesbury.Alongside this, Jayne is also an Lead Reviewer and an EAG member here at Challenge Partners. Matt Jones MBE
Matt became the Chair of the Southwark Association of Secondary Headteachers (SASH), which addresses issues in local secondary schools and their communities, and became Executive Principal of Ark Evelyn Grace Academy in 2019. Matt is also the Founder and Chair of The Elephant Group charity, supporting students from underrepresented groups to access top UK universities.
Leora Cruddas CBE
Leora founded the CST, a national sector body for academy trusts, three years ago. It now represents nearly 60 per cent of all academies that together educate more than 2.5 million children. Before founding CST, Leora was director of policy and public relations for the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL). She also has six years of experience as a director of education in two London local authorities, as well as being a visiting professor at the University College London Institute of Education.
Jacqueline Eason MBE
Jacqueline has been involved with school governance since 2001 and provided professional governance consultancy and training since 2013. This has included working with the National Governance Association as a consultant trainer and being a designated NLG since 2015. She has undertaken governance deployments in a wide range of settings, including chairing interim executive boards, chairing maintained schools and establishing trust boards for Multi Academy Trusts.
