National Gallery project inspires generous pupils

Manor Leas Junior Academy, Lincoln, were thrilled to take part in a 'Top Secret' project with the National Gallery last term.

Jan van Huysum's painting, Flowers in a Terracotta Vase, was loaned to a local foodbank for a week from the National Gallery, to thank them for their generosity during the pandemic.

The children created their own flowers out of a variety of materials as well as their own clay terracotta vases. Each of them decided to gift their vase of flowers to a member of the community, from elderly residents to local businesses and community groups, to continue to spread the message of generosity and giving.
