We have been pleased to host two meetings with partner schools and new 'education recovery' tsar Kevan Collins to inform his recommendations for the Education Secretary.
Pastoral leads from across our network shared their concerns with Kevan last week, and this week headteachers added their feedback on the challenge of closing the attainment gap; as well as some of the positive developments of the last year including some pupils' independent learning skills and their use of tech.
Kevan is talking to a range of people to understand the impact of the pandemic on children and schools.
"I don’t think the story of Covid for children has been written and it will take time and needs to come from the bottom up.”
He said the disruption to education is on a scale never seen before, with many children missing up to 115 face to face learning days, which may take several years to recover.
